“I want you to marry me.”
I didn’t know what to say or what to think when the gorgeous man, Miles Thorn, uttered those words. I knew nothing about him, except that he was the handsome CEO of Thorn Construction. I literally only bumped into him while I was leaving a failed job interview at his company, our only interaction lasting for mere seconds.
“Why?”
He shrugged. “I have my reasons.”
I knew his offer was something I could not refuse. My aunts, who had raised me since my parents died in an accident when I was five, were on the verge of losing their house. They would have their mortgage paid off and I’d be a million dollars richer if I accepted his offer. All I had to do was pretend to be his wife for six months. Then, we’d divorce and I’d go on my merry way.
I could do that, right?
I just have to make sure he doesn't break my heart in the process.
