It’s better to love people than wealth. I love Dad, Mom, Kendall, Sandra, Nick, baby Stetson, and especially Hudson. I wouldn’t trade them for a mountain of gold.
“I love the word ‘especially,’ ” he said. “And I love the person who wrote it.” Then he bent over to kiss me.
From the Honorable Master Sagewick Goldengill To the Department of Fairy Advancement To the Esteemed Department,
I am in receipt of student Chrysanthemum Everstar’s extra-credit report and have reviewed it thoroughly. Although I give Miss Everstar high marks for her part in eliminating that menace of an ex-fairy, Rumpelstiltskin, it has not escaped the UMA’s notice that were it not for some swift action by the mortal, Tansy Miller Harris, Rumpelstiltskin would have regained his full powers and undoubtedly wreaked hav-oc on both the human and fairy realms.
As the UMA is strictly against unleashing vengeful ex-fairies on society, they have insisted I turn down Miss Everstar’s current application to Godmother University. It did not help matters that Clover T. Bloomsbottle has already paid the next hundred years’ union dues with coins made from the cursed ex-fairy. None of the receptionists will go near it.
However, we think Miss Everstar shows impressive potential. Please have Madame Bellwings give her another assignment.
Yours austerely,
