SUMMER SUN
Contents
Introduction
Summer Sun is a book of Haiku and Senryu poems written by British poet Fuad Viento, accentuating the enchanting beauty of nature, love, realities of life and relationships in British haiku. The collection also includes a series of micropoetry.
The haiku form and its moments of contemplation and surprise, are a perfect fit for the dream world’s startling images, pieces of conversation, and emotional residues. The delicate art of saying a lot in a few words.
Between lines, between breaths, you will journey to the center of a poet's dream-room.
Haiku Poems
"The Elevator"
Shared elevators:
Exchanging spent breaths of air
Instead of talking.
"Summer Sun"
Sunlight serenade
Glows withing the rising dawn
To console my soul.
A thousand miles away
Colors of the summer sun —
Eating more than words.
Under cloud filled skies,
The planet recites its verse:
For the summer sun.
"Caspian Sea"
Impatient tide rides
To shore on the back of a
Bolting stallion.
My dreams of the sand
Underneath the Caspian sea
Sleeping with the wind.
Sea uses dress style
According to the climate.
Changing with seasons.
"Forgotten Ghosts"
Meteor shower
The wind burns with the silence
Of the forgotten.
Drifting in the wind
Whirling dimly through the night
On a warm spring night.
"Firangiz"
Between Baku walls,
And Glasgow’s Clockwork Orange —
The girl of my dreams.
Her exotic voice
Kissed by the romantic breeze
And fantasies bloom.
The Queen of my heart.
With enchanting smile
Giving hope to all.
Love is in the air
Soaks the earth before dusk —
Close your eyes and feel.
Beauty of her eyes,
Descend upon straps of light
Magic in one glance.
I confess my love
Firangiz is my whole world
There is no corner.
Sakura breathing…
Nothing captures me like you
In love forever.
"Betrayed by Shadows"
Darkness is real, love.
Your best friend is your shadow.
Now it’s leaving you.
Senryu Poems
"Unforgettable"
Two hearts fall in love
Walking through life together
Unforgettable.
A love so sincere
No loss to sinful wishes
Only me and you…
"Saudade"
You think you know love
Until you are bleed and hurt
The glory of pain.
Your razor sharp words
Flaying my skin red and raw
Bruising me inside.
"Chronic Lust"
She was the cure for
His warrior soul — first aid
For his chronic lust.
She was a tribal
Amazon in the jungle
Of sensual desire.
He inked his black rose
Of despair on her skin with
Each touch of his sin.
He was a ghost ship
Haunting the depth of her soul
Drowning her in love.
He could not contain
The storm within as passion
Cast its spell on him.
Beauty blushes as
It weaves a seductive web
To capture its prey.
"Jerusalem"
The Dome of the Rock
There’s a man knelt in prayer —
Connecting with God.
"Insomnia"
Not sleeping tonight
Thoughts incoherent in mind
A lucid dream gives solace.
Micropoetry
"Knight’s Move"
Man with the chess board
Eternal moves
Birth of infinity.
The serenity of heart
It comes from inside yourself
Existing in strength.
"Life on the Nile"
Under the gold sun,
Open to every whisper
My vehicle is lost.
A camel
Sharing his raindrops —
With the desert.
Sand on the dunes.
Migrating birds on a wire,
Making a rest-stop.
"Life Behind Bars"
Down between the walls
Where the iron laws insist
The dusky voices echo.
"The Carpet"
Don't let the rocking chair
And don't let the couch
Take you from this earth.
"Baku Spring"
A fragile line peeked
As the sun awoke from sleep
Stretching in the sky.
The first day of spring —
The tree trunk blooms green
Moss.
"Black Swan"
Glass black swan
On the mantelpiece.
Memory of the lake.
Lake’s anniversary
Swan tried to seek peace
In the tranquil waves.
"Like a child"
Be like a child,
Act like a child.
Go from one rose to another.
In your heart-garden
Until you find perfect joy
And complete satisfaction.
"Black Friday"
Beneath the white cloud,
Black Friday in New York.
Crowd rush like ants through the hourglass.
